MAY 2008
In May 2008 Balagan acquired the Spec Script “Kingdom of Frank.”

APRIL 2008
Since returning to London in March 2008 Jonathan has been busy with commercials and has produced spots for B+Q and 3 shoots with director Jackson Pat.

MARCH 2008
In March 2008 Jonathan and Guy decided to formally end their working partnership. Guy was a founding partner of Balagan. Still best mates and parting amicably and efficiently, Jonathan now retains 100% ownership of Balagan. We wish Guy every success in his future endevours.

FEBRUARY 2008
Jonathan spent several months in Israel setting up the film Blue Mesiah. Preliminary scouting has been done and the film is currently financing and casting in preparation for a Spring 2009 shoot.

NOVEMBER 2007
At the very end of 2007, Jonathan produced the TV Pilot “Trollups of Threadneedle Street.” Shot on location in London and directed by Kevan Currie, the production utilised the Panavision Genesis camera and was shot by Clio winning cinematographer Peter Moss A.S.C (previously of Moss/Petermann)

SEPTEMBER 2007
In late 2007, while Jonathan was working in Budapest, Guy served as Line Producer on the film City Rats which starred Danny Dyer and Tamer Hassan. The sprawling drama featured an ensemble cast and multiple storylines as various characters weaved their way through London. The film premiered at 2008 Cannes Film Festival.

MAY 2007
Jonathan begins work on Magnet Films comedy “The Story Of ____” which is directed by commercials and music video veteran, James Abadi. The film, a riotous comedy set in the music industry and about how a frustrated A+R man creates a fictitious band to sell to his own label shot in Budapest in late 2007. The film stars Finlay Robinson, Tamsin Egerton, Danny Webber and Joe Absolom and is set for delivery in Autumn 2008.

MARCH 2007
In Spring 2007, Jonathan went to Brazil to shoot a documentary on the Jetset community. Filming took place during Carnival in Rio and then moved to Sau Paulo and paradise itself, Buzios.

In Your Dreams is finished. Shoreline Entertainment has picked up worldwide rights

MAY 2006
In May 2006 Jonathan began Pre Production on the film In Your Dreams. Boasting an international cast including Dexter Fletcher, Linda Hamilton, Susan George, Parminda Nagra and Elize Du Toit, the romantic comedy was directed by award winning director, Gary Sinyor. The film was produced with Sir David Frosts company Magnet films.

MARCH 2006
2006 has been busy with commercials, the most recent of which was an effects heavy spot for the property company Sagitta directed by Jackson Pat and starring Hong Kong actor Simon Yam.

DECEMBER 2005
At the end of 2005 Jonathan worked as Production Supervisor on the UK unit of the feature film 'Irina Palm.' Directed by Sam Garbarski and starring Marianne Faithful and Jenny Agutar the film shot on location in UK, Luxumberg and Germany and is set for delivery in summer 2006. (the film went on to gross $15m dollars worldwide and was nominated for Best Film/Golden Bear at the 2006 Berlin Film Festival)

OCTOBER 2005
In 2005 Jonathan produced 7 episodes of the Chinese / Taiwan TV miniseries Emerald Sky. With extensive location filming in 54 locations across London, Brighton & Edinburgh filming completed on time and on budget in early December.

AUGUST 2005
Jonathan spent the summer of 2005 working in Israel on the epic 13 hour miniseries 'Against All Odds.' Encompassing massive logistics on a tough desert shoot the production utilised 2 units, 500 Extras as well as extensive tank and horse stunt sequences. Production shot in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the Negev Desert close to the border with Egypt.

APRIL 2005
Balagan also provided Post Production services to the French production 'Changing Light of Day,' which premiered in Cannes 2005. The film was directed by James Nicholson and produced by Michael Ganuna for Daydream Productions of Paris.

ARCHIVE
Jonathan produced the Scene Productions / Visionary Films production of 'Life, Translated.' This £2.8m budgeted film marked the first ever Chinese funded film to shoot exclusively in the UK. The film starred Edison Chen, star of such films as Infernal Affairs and was shot in numerous locations around England. The film was released in late 2004 in the far east and has also played in US, Canada and several European territories.

Jonathan also produced "La Brassiere" a romantic comedy shot in London & Hong Kong starring Gi Gi Leung & Louis Koo. The film opened at number one and grossed $20m HK dollars, making it one of the highest grossing releases of 2001.

Such was the success of "La Brasserie" that Balagan were asked again to produce the London Unit of the film "My Wife Is 18" which shot in London and Hong Kong in spring 2002. During the shoot they had great fun shutting down Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Circus and Covent Garden as well as many other locations around town. The film opened in cinemas in late September at Number 1 and went onto gross $17.2m HK Dollars and again, like "The Brasserie" was one of Hong Kong's highest grossing movies of 2002.

In 1999 Jonathan Line Produced Simon Rumley's film "The Truth Game" which shot in London with an exciting cast that included Tanya Emery, Stuart Laing and Tom Fisher. The film premiered at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival to excellent notices. The film has since gone on to cinema and video success around the world.

Another achievement was a commercial for One-2 -Call Thailand's biggest mobile phone network. The commercial received excellent recognition and still plays regularly throughout the Far East.

And for the Japanese elections of 2002 they produced 3 commercials for expatriates around the world. These commercials were screened worldwide.

As well as Feature Films and Commercials, Jonathan also produced "Tricks & Stunts", a documentary about 2 of the worlds top stunt bikers which was shot in locations around England with an excellent stunt crew and up to 6 cameras. Visually dynamic and filled with daring stunts it screened worldwide and is also England's biggest selling "extreme" sport video.

Jonathan and Guy have also produced over 75 commercials for Jackson Pat's company, Scene Productions. We have also produced commercials and films for many of England's and Asia's leading production companies.

With over 15 years in the industry Jonathan is a respected and experienced producers whose credit list represents the best of English and International production.
