Jonathan Weissler entered the film industry in the early 90's where he worked on films like Interview With the Vampire, Braveheart and Mission Impossible 1 as he climbed the production ladder.
Jonathan produced his first feature film in 1997 with "Time Enough" starring Dexter Fletcher and Foster Marks. The film went on to win Best Film at the Houston International Film Festival and make a healthy profit from its cinema and TV runs.
This launched Jonathan's producing career and he has since gone on to produce 24 feature films, a 10 hour TV miniseries and countless commercials around the world.
In 2001 his film “The Brasserie,” which filmed in London, Tokyo and Hong Kong grossed $38m putting it among the highest grossing films in Asia that year. Also in 2001, he produced the seminal British movie “The Truth Game” starring Paul Blackthorne & Selina Giles which also played to cinematic success. In 2006 he partnered with Sir David Frost and produced “In Your Dreams” starring Linda Hamilton & Susan George.
In 2009 Jonathan produced “Re‐Uniting The Rubins” starring Timothy Spall, Rhona Mitra & Honor Blackman which shot in London and South Africa before playing in cinemas. It is now a popular movie screening regularly on TV and streaming services around the world.
“White Lie” (2012) is a thriller about a writer who has his book stolen by his mentor and is a UK/French Co Production starring David Birkin and Paul Bandey that has played to global cinematic success. Jonathan also produced the fable “Luck” which tells the story of the worlds luckiest man who can choose when he is lucky and when he is not.
In the world of commercials, Jonathan has produced over 400 spots for many market-leading clients including Nike, Gap, British Airways and Sega. In 2005 he won 3 of the 5 awards at the London Commercials Review.
Jonathan founded Balagan Productions in 2001. This busy production company is based in London and is a well known film production and financing house.
Jonathan regularly speaks at industry events and is a leading voice in the UK and European Film industry.
